Farenas pits power vs Pacquiao victim
MANILA, Philippines — Michael Farenas’ punching power will be gauged when he tangles with Mexican veteran Hector Velazquez for the WBC Asian Boxing Council super featherweight title on March 21 at FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The 29-year-old Farenas (37-4-4 with 29 knockouts) has disposed of his last three foes in a combined five rounds, the last a two-round stoppage of Jesus Rios last Dec. 13.
Though already 39, Velazquez (56-20-3, 38 KOs) still packs a wallop and is a wily tactician.

“I know that Velazquez is a formidable opponent, but I will do everything to make him fall, said Farenas, a protege of former two-division world champion Gerry Peñalosa.
