MANILA, Philippines—The Loyola Meralco Sparks restored their four-point advantage at the top of the United Football League with a 4-1 drubbing of Pachanga PLDT Home Fibr, even as Stallion notched a second straight victory Tuesday night at Emperador Stadium.
Sparks striker Freddy Gonzalez sparkled on his return to the starting lineup, spearheading a strong second-half performance for the league leaders with a goal and two assists for James Younghusband and Lee Joo Young.
Ruben Doctora scored for the third straight match as Stallion galloped to a 5-0 victory over Pasargad. Doctora scored on a one-on-one opportunity, before Nathan Alquiros bagged a brace to up his total to three goals.
