PH seeks cage marathon mark

The Philippines’ bid to break the Guinness World Record basketball marathon has attracted support from one of the world’s biggest multivitamin brands.

The country will attempt to shatter the record set by Missouri Athletic Club in March 2012 when it played a game that lasted four days or 112 hours and 13 minutes.

The basketball marathon where the Philippines will be represented by a 30-man team, is slated  March 24 at Meralco Gym in Pasig City.

Edwin Gerry Angeles, marketing manager of Total Nutrition Corporation (GNC Philippines) said the firm is throwing its all out support to the team in the form of vitamins and supplements that will help players’ performance.

“The team members are undergoing medical evaluation to make sure they can stand the grueling number hours it will take to reach their goal to shatter the previous record,” said Angeles. Cedelf P. Tupas
