Cayabyab leads Jungolf leg winners

MANILA, Philippines — Annyka Chanel Cayabyab flashed the form that made her one of the top jungolfers last season when she topped the girls Class D division of the recent third leg of the ICTSI-JGFP School Season Tour conducted by The Junior Golfers League held at the Philippine Navy and Capitol Hills courses.

Cayabyab, reaping the fruits of a swing overhaul under new coach Norman Sto. Domingo, recovered from a two-point deficit on the last four holes in the final round with a one-under card to nip Burberry Zhang by three.

Cayabyab, who finished with 86 points after scoring 41 at Navy and 45 at Capitol against Zhang’s 42-41-83, is deep in her preparations for for the Junior World Qualifying, US Kids Scotland and Pinehurst and Veritas World Juniors.

Cayabyab is back-to-back winner of the prestigious Veritas Junior World Cup held in the USA, and the defending champion of the PGF Junior Master Northern Luzon Philippines. She will join the TJGL-Navy Division 2 in the ICTSI-JGFP Interclub Championship on March 26-28 at Splendido.
