MANILA, Philippines — Big Chill led wire-to-wire in an 81-73 win over Hog’s Breath in the 2014 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Tuesday at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

The Superchargers, last conference’s losing finalist, zoomed to an early 23-8 lead and never looked back.

“So far the guys are stepping up and filling the void left by Cervantes and Baloria,” said Big Chill head coach Robert Sison, referring to his former players Reil Cervantes and Juneric Baloria, who were key in the Superchargers’ finals run last Aspirants’ Cup.

“I’m happy with the way we played defense,” he added.

Jeckster Apinan led Big Chill’s rousing opening game showing with 18 points, while Dexter Maiquez had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Former Globalport reserve JP Belencion paced the Razorbacks with 11 points, while Jamil Gabawan and Vaughn Canta added 10 apiece.

The game saw Big Chill lead by as much as 21 points, while Hog’s Breath trailed the entire match.
