Source: Dela Cruz is new UST coach

MANILA, Philippines –University of Santo Tomas goes for a familiar face with deputy Segundo “Bong” dela Cruz III expected to be named head coach of the men’s basketball team, a source revealed Wednesday.

Dela Cruz was one of the long-time assistants of coach Pido Jarencio, who parted ways with the Tigers last January to mentor pro squad Globalport in the PBA.

Team insiders said UST will make a formal announcement of Dela Cruz’s appointment this April. Jasmine W. Payo
