MANILA, Philippines — Adamson made short work of Baguio-based St. Louis University, 25-10, 25-10, 25-20, Thursday in the 11th Shakey’s V-League First Conference at the Arena in San Juan.
Finally getting the consistency it was lacking in their opener loss to Ateneo, the Lady Falcons showcased their sheer firepower against the Lady Navigators.
It was a well-rounded effort from Adamson with almost everyone contributing at least a point and veteran Mylene Paat showing the way with 11 points.
Margrett Galanza and Sheila Pineda combined for 17 points for the Lady Falcons, who scored their first victory in the tournament.
“We’re playing better today because we’ve been able to practice with a complete line-up everyday,” said head coach Sherwin Meneses, saying that they had to take it slow before the opening because of the finals week.
Adamson pounded on the hapless Lady Navigators in the first and second sets, though St. Louis showed some life in the third set before ultimately bowing out.
“That third set was a good test for the players,” said Meneses as the Lady Navigators stayed within striking distance of the Lady Falcons.
Florence Mdulid and Krissian Tsuchiya finished with six and five markers, respectively, for St. Louis while the rest of the team combined for 11 points.
The Lady Navigators dropped behind early with a 0-2 card.
