Liguayan hits grand slam homer in PSC Commissioners’ Cup
MANILA, Philippines — Ferdinand Liguayan hit an inside-the-park grand slam home run to complement his brilliant work on the mound Saturday, leading Rizal Technological to a 13-3 rout of Philippine Navy for win No. 3 in the PSC Commissioners’ Cup baseball championship.
Philippine Air Force thrashed Adamson, 8-3, to also post its third win while National University broke its losing streak by crushing University of Santo Tomas, 13-5.
Liguayan, a former Little League stalwart, slammed the tournament’s first homer with a wooden bat after organizers ditched the use of the springboard-like metal bats in keeping with international rules.
