PBA mourns untimely passing of former player Bryan Gahol

MANILA, Philippines—The PBA mourned the sudden passing of former player Bryan Gahol Tuesday.

Gahol died late Monday in a road mishap along the northbound lane of South Luzon Expressway (SLEx). He was 36.

“Prayers go out to Bryan Gahol and his family… #RIP,” Talk ‘N Text guard Jimmy Alapag wrote on his Twitter account Tuesday morning.

“RIP Bryan Gahol! My thoughts [and] prayer is with [your] family,” Air21 center Asi Taulava posted on Twitter.

The six-foot-five center Gahol was a star back in college for the University of the Philippines in the UAAP during the late 1990s before turning pro in 1999.

He began his PBA career with Mobiline and also suited up for Alaska, San Miguel Beer and Red Bull.

“RIP Bryan Gahol. Was part of our Alaska family in the early 2000’s,” said Alaska head coach Luigi Trillo.
