MANILA, Philippines — Buoyed by its success in the NBTC National Finals, Chiang Kai Shek College will bring its act to the south by playing goodwill games against the best high school teams from Cebu starting on April 11.

Aside from their much-awaited games against teams from University of San Carlos and Ateneo de Cebu, the Chiang Kai Shek College delegation will also conduct basketball clinics and visit an orphanage as part of its outreach programs.

“Like NBA Cares does across the globe, we hope we can help address some social issues like youth development, health and wellness,” said coach Goldwin Monteverde, who is largely credited for the school’s rise as one of the best in the country.

Proof of its new-found status was beating UAAP champion National University during the NBTC Finals last month—big thanks to the stellar performance of rising stars JV Gallego and Mohammad Al-Yusouf Salim.

For their success, Monteverde thanked the basketball committee of CKSC for its all-out support.

Sunny Co is also hoping their three-day visit to Cebu will help strengthen their ties with Cebu’s CKSC Alumni Association.

The Blue Dragons are also scheduled to face University of Visayas and Cebu Eastern College.

Apart Gallego and Salim, also playing for the Dragons are Mohammad Sayed Ascano, Dale Dy, Shannon Gagate, Jeremy Gallemit, Gabriel Gisalan, Van Paolo Pilanga, Jonas Tibayan, Allen Toribio, Fran Yu, Christian Ballesteros, Jorge Ligad, Aaron Lopez and Francis Bait.
