MANILA, Philippines – Jumbo Plastic broke loose late to whip Derulo Accelero 80-52 in the 2014 PBA D-League Foundation Cup Monday at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

The Giants had five players in double-digit scoring led by Jeff Viernes’ 14 points off-the-bench.

Mike Parala and Karl Dehesa added 11 points apiece and Jan Colina had 10 for Jumbo Plastic, which outscored Derulo 32-12 in the fourth quarter.

The Giants led majority of the game and even built a 31-point advantage at one point.

Jumbo Plastic clamped down on Derulo’s high-scoring guard Michael Juico.

The former San Sebastian slotman Juico was held to just eight points on three-of-10 shooting from the field with three turnovers.

Raul Soyud scored 17 points for the Oilers but even he didn’t shoot well – missing 10 out of his 18 attempts.

The Giants picked up their second win in a row after dropping their first game of the conference while the Oilers fell to 0-3.
