HOLLYWOOD—Manny Pacquiao capped his “rest day” with an impromptu mini concert here Sunday night (Monday in Manila).
Already in peak form for his second showdown with Timothy Bradley on April 12, Pacquiao obliged requests from fans and supporters in the living room of his mansion on Plymouth in North Larchmont.
Singing with passion, Pacquiao opened with a rendition of the classic “Let it Be” of the Beatles and ended his six-song playlist with Garry V’s “Sana Maulit Muli.” “Soft (music) only,” said Pacquiao, who has recorded his trademark song “Para sa Iyo ang Laban na Ito” (This fight is for you) several times.
His version of Dan Hill’s “Sometimes When We Touch” was released internationally.
The crowd, composed mostly of women who took part in the weight-loss contest, rewarded Pacquiao with generous applause.
All the 32 participants reportedly made the required weight reduction and was rewarded by Pacquiao with $3,000 each.
Before Pacquiao took over the microphone, OPM great Florante sang for the crowd.
After handing out cash prizes to the weight losers, Pacquiao proceeded to the garage, where his Mercedes Benz and Ferrari are parked, and played in the darts tournament he hosted for male Team Pacquiao members.
