MANILA, Philippines — Defending champion Blackwater Sports stopped its winless skid with a 93-75 rout of a Big Chill side that staged a partial walkout Monday in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at JCSGO Gym in Cubao, Quezon City.

The Elite, who shot a staggering 61 percent in the opening quarter, set the tone for the rout by building an early 28-16 advantage before the Superchargers, who complained of unfair officiating, walked out of the game at the 2-minute, 50-second mark in the first half.

Although Big Chill returned to the court and got slapped with a couple of technical fouls for delaying the game, the Superchargers got nowhere close to threatening the Elite.

“The first two games we were kind of uptight,” said Blackwater coach Leo Isaac.

“I thought the players had fun today and that was the key for us. Cagayan Valley also arrested a two-game slide with a 70-67 nipping of Cebuana Lhuillier, 70-67.

Ed Daquioag buried all but one of his six three-point attempts to finish with a game-high 18 points.

Jett Vidal also sizzled from beyond the arc, drilling a pair that gave the Rising Suns a 60-54 cushion.

Both the Elite and the Rising Suns improved to 1-2 while pinning on their opponents their first loss in three games.

Earlier, Jumbo Plastic improved to 2-1 following an 80-52 rout of Derulo Accelero behind the trio of Jeff Viernes, Karl Dehesa and Mike Parala.

Reil Cervantes, who returned from a one-game suspension, scattered 15 points to power the Elite past his former squad.

Pari Llagas also added 13 points while Kevin Ferrer, Jericho Cruz and Don Trollano finished with 12 each for the Elite. Big Chill coach Robert Sison said his team is ready to face the stiff penalties that will be slapped against the Superchargers for walking out of the game.

“I’m not saying the referees are biased. It’s just that they’re not making the right calls,” said Sison.
