Tolentino gunned down four birdies that went with five bogeys and a double on the par-3 11th for a 148 aggregate in the event presented by the MVP Sports Foundation at Sherwood Hills.

“It was really tough out there today,” said Tolentino, a 16-year-old playing out of the Camp Aguinaldo program who is chasing his first national title.

Defending champion Park fired another 76 to be at 152, putting himself in contention with Diego San Pedro shooting a 73 to be another stroke behind.

And the field now has one less favored bet to contend with after Rupert Zaragosa withdrew because of a wrist injury.

Zaragosa had the lead after going one-under through six holes before he decided to call it quits.
