LeBron praises Durant on MVP-worthy season
MANILA, Philippines—He’s the undisputed King, but basketball’s ruler may want to relinquish the throne to one usurper.
LeBron James, the reigning National Basketball Association Most Valuable Player, said in an interview with the Miami Herald that Kevin Durant, arguably his main rival as the league’s best player, has been having a season of greatness.
Article continues after this advertisement“I think K.D has had one heck of a season, and if he was rewarded with the MVP, it would be great,” the four-time MVP said.
“It would be awesome for him, for his family. It would be a great thing for him. He has played MVP-type basketball.”
On the basis of stats, James and Durant have been pretty impressive with the Slim Reaper leading the league in scoring averaging 32.0 points per game with 7.5 rebounds per game and 5.5 assists per game leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to 57-21 win-loss record.
Article continues after this advertisementJames on the other end is third in scoring average with 27.0 ppg with 6.9 rpg and 6.4 apg while leading the Miami Heat to a 53-25 win-loss record.
“I would say he’s the most consistent player as far as MVP this year (is concerned),” James said.
