MADRID, Spain—Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to miss Wednesday’s Copa del Rey final against Barcelona due to a leg injury.

Madrid says medical scans Thursday on the Portugal international revealed a muscle injury in his left leg—in addition to a left knee injury he had been nursing. Madrid did not say how long Ronaldo would be sidelined.

Madrid lost 2-0 at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday without Ronaldo, who has scored 45 goals in all competitions for the Spanish giants this season including a record-equaling 14 in the Champions League. However, his side advanced 3-2 on aggregate.

Ronaldo is also expected to miss Saturday’s game against Almeria. Madrid trails Spanish leader Atletico Madrid by three points with six rounds to play.
