AFP salutes Pacquiao
MANILA, Philippines — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Sunday made sure it sent out its congratulations to new WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.
Pacquiao, who received the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2011 from the Philippine Army, got a short but meaningful message from the AFP.

As a reserve officer in the Philippine Army, he manifested how Filipinos rise up to excel in whatever undertaking we face as we all work hard to accomplish our goals as a people and as a nation,” AFP spokesperson Maj. Gen. Domingo Tutaan Jr. said in a statement.
“We are all honored by his victory,” he added.
Pacquiao on Sunday (Philippine time) beat Timothy Bradley after a stunning performance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
