UFL: Kaya eyes 2nd win vs Army

MANILA, Philippines — Kaya tries to regain second spot from Loyola Meralco Tuesday when it tangles with Army-General Trias at the resumption of the United Football League at Emperador Stadium in Taguig.

Riding high on a four-game winning streak, Kaya can also move within two points off leader Global with a win in the 5:15 p.m. duel with Army.

Stallion seeks to solidify its hold of the No. 4 spot when it clashes with bottom side Pasargad in the 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

Coming off a comfortable 4-1 win over Green Archers United two weeks ago, Stallion will welcome skipper Ruben Doctora back into the lineup.

Doctora has been in blistering form, scoring in two straight matches for Stallion and also firing a debut goal for the national team in the 3-0 win over Nepal last April 11 in Doha, Qatar.

Pasargad has only one victory and two draws from 16 matches this season. Kaya has not played since April 1 when it downed Loyola Meralco, 3-1, thanks to two goals from Pablo Rodriguez.

But the Armymen are determined to also sort out their defensive struggles and end a three-game losing streak.

Army has conceded nine goals in the second half of its last three matches.
