UP Maroons tap Azkals’ Palami as manager

MANILA, Philippines — After working wonders in Philippine football, Dan Palami hopes to do the same for the faltering men’s basketball team of University of the Philippines.

Palami, the Azkals manager who gave football a big boost in the last five years, has been tapped to serve in the same capacity for his alma mater starting this UAAP season.

“There are parallels with the Azkals at the start,” said Palami during yesterday’s PSA Forum at Shakey’s Malate. “It felt like deja vu, but this time in basketball.”
