MANILA, Philippines — The International Little League Association-Manila (Illam) and Muntinlupa blasted their respective opponents to reach the knockout stage of the Little League baseball 12-under Philippine series in Marikina City.
The Illam squad blanked Valenzuela, 22-0, even as Muntinlupa beat Antipolo, 9-1, at Sumulong grounds to lead their brackets with 3-0 records.
Ken Agcoaili, Marcel de Guzman, Kaleb Abergas and Matt San Juan took turns at the mound for Illam.
Illam coach Anthony Dizer said he has plenty of pitchers in his 14-man rotation which could spell the difference in this qualifier for the Asia-Pacific region.
But he added they can’t afford to be complacent because Muntinlupa will be their last elimination match to determine the seedings in the next round.
Illam also posted victories over Naga, 26-2, in junior league (14-under) and Pampanga West, 11-1, in senior league (16-under). Illam, Muntinlupa LL batters still unscathed
