MANILA, Philippines –Big Chill hacked out a 68-54 win over Cafe France on Thursday to snap a three-game slide in the 2014 PBA D-League Foundation Cup.
Quinton Heruela had a double-double performance of 13 points and 11 assists to carry the Super Chargers, who stayed in the hunt for a playoff spot with the victory.
Big Chill kept Bakers on the run with its up-tempo game and led by as many as 18 points, but needed a 10-3 spurt in the second period to pull away.
“I’m relieved. We’ve really have been struggling the past five games. But today I thought we’re consistent,” said Big Chill coach Robert Sison.
“We treated this game as a do-or-die game. Hopefully, this win will help boost our confidence.”
All but two of the 13 players utilized contributed in scoring for the Superchargers, who improved to 3-3.
Alfred Batino tallied 15 points for Café France. He also pulled down 10 boards as the Bakers outrebounded Big Chill, 51-49.
