MANILA, Philippines — Marian Jade Capadocia again proved she’s the country’s top female player when she bested Clarice Patrimonio, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3), Sunday to capture the singles title of the 7th Anacleto Alcala Cup-National Open in Lucena.
The fleet-footed 18-year-old three-time PCA Open champ parried Patrimonio’s vaunted big serve and forehand to prevail.
Earlier, Capadocia paired with Patrimonio to defeat youngsters Maika Tanpoco and Maia Balce, 6-2, 7-5, for the women’s doubles title.
