Tough NCA derby Tuesday
MANILA, Philippines — Some of the country’s finest cockers will host the next National Cockers Alliance (NCA) 6-cock derby leg on Tuesday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Engineer Efren Canlas, Jet Fernando, the Jingco Brothers, Madlangbayan Brothers, and Rep.
Patrick Antonio are pooling their resources together to stage the derby, prelude to the NCA World Championship Derby (WCD) slated May 13, 15 and 17, at the same venue.
Top foreign cockers led by Dan Gray and Tom Wilson have confirmed participation in the super-tough WCD.
Tuesday’s derby hosts have invited guest cockers to battle it out with NCA members, who are also disputing the group’s Cocker of the Year award.
Meanwhile, the “Jimafer BG” entry of Canlas, “Sta. Monica Barkadahan” of Tady Palma, and “Sa Pasay” of Antonio chalked up 5 points each and emerged co-champions in the April 22 NCA derby hosted by former Rizal Gov. Ito Ynares and Charlie “Atong” Ang and sponsored by Sagupaan Complexor.
