NLEX targets elims sweep vs Big Chill

MANILA, Philippines — NLEX goes for an elimination sweep today against a Big Chill squad scrambling to stay in quarterfinal contention in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Assured of a Final Four slot, the Road Warriors shoot for a ninth straight win at 12 noon versus the Superchargers in a rematch of last conference’s finalists.

While the Superchargers (3-4) have yet to recover their old form, Big Chill coach Robert Sison thinks the Road Warriors may just bring out the best in them.

“Anything can happen,” said Sison. “It’s 50-50. But if we play the way we did [last Tuesday], I think we’ll give NLEX a good fight.”

Meanwhile, Blackwater Sports tries to secure at least a quarterfinal bonus against Cafe France in the second game at 2 p.m.

Only the top two teams at the end of the eliminations will jump straight to the semifinals with the next four battling in the quarterfinal round where the No. 3 and No. 4 squad getting twice-to-beat incentives.

The Superchargers aim to follow up on their 50-46 decision of the higher-ranked Jumbo Plastic last Tuesday.
