After lording it over in the 400cc motorbike races, Aries Padiernos is now setting his sights on another track.
This time, the multi-champion biker hopes to establish the same measure of success in Mini Cooper races.
“It’s a different challenge and I’m excited about it,” said Padiernos, who has been virtually peerless in the 400cc event, ruling practically every race and dominating the Golden Wheel awards for that division.
Aside from the challenge presented by racing on four wheels, though, Padiernos admitted that the rise of several contenders in the 400cc had him thinking about shifting tracks.
“Every athlete dreams of going out on top,” he explained. “When I look at the 400cc nowadays, there are so many young riders already on the rise and they’re really good.”
“I don’t want to get to the point where I am no longer competitive,” he added.
