MANILA, Philippines—Far Eastern University struck with a 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22 win over Adamson Thursday for a first-ever finals stint in the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 First Conference.

Former FEU star Rachel Ann Daquis unloaded 26 hits while four others churned out double-digit outputs for the Lady Tamaraws, who arranged a meet with National University in the finale.

Bernadette Pons scored 15 points, Jovelyn Gonzaga and Mary Joy Palma fired 12 hits apiece, and Genevieve Casugod added 10 markers for FEU.

“She just carried us through in this game,” said FEU head coach Shaq delos Santos of Daquis, who fired five of her squad’s last eight hits to seal the victory.

Adamson snatched game 1, 19-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-15, 15-12, but FEU retaliated, 25-22, 25-23, 26-24, to force a sudden death which the Lady Tamaraws made the most out of.

The finals berth assures FEU of a best-ever finish in the Shakey’s V-League tournament since placing third in 2009.

Despite the Lady Falcons’ persistence that gave them a third set win, the Lady Tamaraws always managed to double their rival’s effort to finish the game.

Adamson was led by Shiela Pineda and Thai Pacharee Sangmuang, who combined combined for 35 points, in a losing effort which related the Lady Falcons to battle for third.

Mylene Paat added 13 hits while Pau Soriano struggled with 10 points for Adamson.
