Princess Superal rebounded with a three-under-par 69 but fell five strokes behind Thai ace Pimpadsorn Sangkagaro after two rounds of the sixth Thai LPGA Championship at Sea Pines Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, late Thursday.
Superal, who salvaged a 74 with a last-hole birdie in the first round, carded nines of 34-35.
But from three down overnight, the spearhead of Team ICTSI dropped farther back with 43 as Sangkagaro sizzled with an eagle-spiked 66 for 138 and wrested a one-stroke lead over compatriot Supamas Sangchan.
The Philippine Ladies Open champion Sangchan, who shared the first-round lead with two others at 71, shot a 68.
Sangkagaro returned a sizzling 30 on the last nine holes spiked by four birdies and an eagle on the par-5 No. 16.
Jayvie Agojo matched her opening 77 for 154 while Pauline del Rosario managed a 76 for 156.
“Princess made an early charge but missed two birdie putts inside five feet that stalled her charge,” said Team ICTSI coach Bong Lopez. “We expect her to go all-out tomorrow.”
