Cebu teams test La Salle, UE
La Salle and University of the East aim to boost their quarterfinal chances against separate Cebu teams in a pair of road games in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup Sunday at Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City.
The UAAP champion Green Archers, who narrowly edged Cebu powerhouse University of Visayas Friday night, battle University of San Carlos in Group A action at 1 p.m.
But the Red Warriors face a tougher challenge in their 3 p.m. match against the Southwestern University Cobras, who got off to a surprise 4-0, start in the summer basketball league, before losing to the Green Achers, 59-64, Saturday night.
The Cobras (4-1), lead Group A, followed by idle Jose Rizal University (4-2). Perpetual Help (3-2), La Salle (3-1) and UE (2-2) are still in the running for quarterfinal slots.
