MANILA, Philippines — Adamson settled for third place after sweeping University of Santo Tomas, 25-15, 25-17, 25-22, in the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 First Conference Sunday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Falcons had three players with at least 11 points with Thai import Pacharee Sangmuang leading the way with 14 points.
Shiela Pineda, Pau Soriano, Amanda Villanueva had 11 points each while Mylene Paat added eight points, built on four blocks.
Pineda also had four service aces and 12 digs to help Adamson, which won Game 1 in four sets last Sunday.
Chloe Cortez paced the Tigresses with 13 points while high school standout EJ Laure added nine.
UST, at one point, was the hottest team in the league having won five straight games before the team eventually cooled off and wound up losing five in a row to end its campaign on a sour note.
“For the whole conference, the team did well. And I think we only had this game as a bad game,” said UST head coach Odjie Mamon. “Observation is that the players were not their normal selves. I feel like they’re already in vacation mode.”
