MANILA, Philippines — Rain or Shine ended its slump in emphatic fashion after clobbering Globalport, 119-97, in the 2014 PLDT Home Telpad PBA Governors’ Cup Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Former Best Import AZ Reid posted 30 points, 13 of which came in the third quarter, where the Elasto Painters took control thanks to a 39-point output. Reid also collected 13 rebounds and eight assists to help halt a two-game losing tailspin.

ROS shot the ball well from the field hitting 50% of their attempts. Jeff Chan and Paul Lee knocked in six triples combined. Chan fired 19 points while Lee pumped in 17.

The Painters, who lost to still unbeaten Air21 Express and San Miguel Beermen in their first two outings, stretched a five-point halftime lead to 21, 91-70, on a basket by Larry Rodriguez.

Guards Terrence Romeo and Alex Cabagnot led a Batang Pier comeback that trimmed the deficit to 12, 102-90, with just under four minutes left before Reid, Lee and Chan restored order.

Romeo had 22 while Cabagnot posted 21 for Globalport, which failed to follow up its win over Alaska and drop to 1-2.
