Filoil: Vito leads UP past EAC

MANILA, Philippines — University of the Philippines used a fiery fourth-quarter rally to carve out a 72-57 victory over Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup Wednesday.

Cris Vito led UP with 15 points, seven rebounds and two blocks and Dave Moralde and Renz Asilum combined for 23 markers for the Maroons, who finished tied with the Generals at 2-4 in Group C.

Earlier, St. Clare blew a 17-point fourth-quarter edge before hanging on to an 85-81 victory against Mapua in Group B at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Saints rounded up their campaign with a 2-4 record, while the Cardinals flamed out with a 1-5 card.
