MANILA, Philippines –Chiang Kai Shek College and Far Eastern University arranged a title showdown in the PCABL (Philippine Chinese Amateur Basketball League) 7th Freego Cup Thursday at Philippine Buddhacare Academy gym in Quezon City.
The CKSC Dragons went to Fran Yu and Moh Ascano at crunch time to eke out a 62-60 win and advance to the finals of the annual pre-season tournament for the first time.
Yu scored seven of the team’s final 10 points, including a tight jumper that turned out to be the push the Dragons needed to finally take the fight out of the Baby Falcons. Yu finished with 20 points while Ascano and JV Galledo chipped in 14 each.
The Baby Tamaraws rode on a big final quarter performance to beat Letran, 82-75.
The Baby Tamaraws and the Dragons dispute the title today at 2:45 p.m.
Adamson and Letran clash for third place at 1 p.m. in the event backed by Smart Telecom, Freshgear and Jumbo Plastic.
