MANILA, Philippines –The UAAP has appointed Andy Jao as basketball commissioner of Season 77, hoping that the country’s premier collegiate league will have a smooth run under his watch.
Jao, a former television sports analyst, held the same post in the league in 2011.
“Everything went on smoothly during his previous term as commissioner,” said UAAP secretary treasurer Rod Roque Friday.
Jao will have a yearlong tenure as the juniors basketball tournament has been moved to October. The men’s tournament will kick off July 12 at Smart Araneta Coliseum. Jasmine W. Payo
