MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern University downed NCAA champion San Beda, 89-79, to complete a Group B sweep even as Perpetual Help failed to advance despite stunning UAAP king La Salle, 98-95, Saturday in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup at Filoil Flying V Arena.

Both La Salle and Perpetual finished tied at 4-2 in Group A, but the Green Archers advanced to the quarterfinals due to a superior quotient.

Juneric Baloria exploded for 43 points as the Altas came back from 16 points down in the fourth quarter, 57-73, to upset the Archers. But the effort went for naught as the Altas needed to win by at least five points to advance to the next round.
