Rain delays French Open

PARIS — Heavy rain delayed the start of quarter-final action at the French Open on Wednesday.

Organizers said that play which had been scheduled to start at 1200GMT would not get underway before 1300GMT.

On Court Philippe Chatrier, Sara Errani was due to face Andrea Petkovic followed by Andy Murray’s clash against Gael Monfils.

Court Suzanne Lenglen was staging Svetlana Kuznetsova against Simona Halep and then eight-time champion Rafael Nadal’s clash against David Ferrer.
