Oconer, Barnachea top Robust Bike Challenge

NATIONAL cyclist George Oconer and Michelle Barnachea topped their respective categories in the recent 8th FCAAF Friendship Day Robust Extreme Bike Challenge held in Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

Oconer ruled the men’s elite class in 53 minutes and 17.4 seconds.  Fellow national riders Jerry Aquino Jr. (53:36.5) and Leonel Dimaano (53:36.6) finished second and third, respectively, in the race sanctioned by PhilCycling, headed by Rep. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino.

Barnachea ruled the women’s side in 41:39.6. Julia Timau placed second (41:39.8) and Marita Lucas was third (41:39.9).

The annual race organized by Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation was backed by ATC Healthcare International Corp.
