MANILA, Philippines — Finally getting into its groove, Rain or Shine picked up another win after taking down Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 117-108, in the 2014 PLDT Home Telpad PBA Governors’ Cup Sunday night at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.

Arizona Reid showed the way anew with 31 points after posting 48 points in the Elasto Painters’ monumental 123-72 win over the Alaska Aces last Wednesday.

Paul Lee led all locals in scoring with 24 points, including a dagger of a triple, that got ROS’ lead back to nine, 111-102, with under two minutes left.

The Kings, who muffed a chance to join the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters atop the standings and instead fell into a three-way tie in second place with the Air21 Express and San Mig Coffee Mixers at 4-2, mounted a huge comeback after trailing by 15 midway through the fourth quarter.

A free throw by Greg Slaughter pulled Ginebra to within six, 102-108, with 2:10 left before Lee’s off-the-glass 3-pointer doused the Kings’ blistering run and silenced the raucous crowd.

Jeff Chan added 18 points for Rain or Shine, which finally went above .500 for the first time this conference at 4-3.

The Painters, who picked up their third straight win, took a 101-86, after a triple by Chan with 6:30 remaining.

Z Mason topscored for Ginebra while Slaughter had 20.
