Princess Superal fought back with a three-under-par 68 but fell four strokes behind Canadian Jennifer Ha after the second round of the Women’s Porter Cup at Niagara Falls and Country Club in Lewiston, New York, Thursday.
Superal, who rallied from five strokes down to edge P. Kanyalak of Thailand and win the Jakarta Junior Open last week, carded nines of 34-34 after opening with a 70 Wednesday.
The top ICTSI-backed campaigner mixed two birdies and two bogeys on the first six holes but birdied Nos. 8, 12 and 17 to cap a two-day total of 138.
The reigning SEA Games, Kuala Lumpur and Royal Selangor Open champion stood four off Ha, who sizzled with a 65 for 134.
Brittany Marchand, another Canadian, matched Superal’s 68 to stay second at 137 in the event, one of the most prestigious amateur (men’s) tournaments in the United States.
Pauline del Rosario, a Junior World champion last year, rebounded from a 77 with a 70 but lay too far behind at 147.
