PLDT-Air Force keeps unbeaten slate in PH Super Liga men’s division

MANILA, Philippines–PLDT-Air Force kept its unbeaten slate after making short work of Instituto Estetico Manila, 25-17, 25-21, 25-22, Wednesday in the lone Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino conference men’s match on Wednesday.

Alnakran Abadilla peppered IEM with 16 hits, Ron Jay Galang backed it up with 10 points and Rodolfo Labrador added nine points, four from blocks.

“We have an advantage in height. Most of the players have played in the national team; we really expect them to play at a high level,” said head coach Jasper Jimenez.

It was PLDT Air Force’s sixth win, but Jimenez still thinks they haven’t played their perfect game yet despite a simply dominant campaign so far.

“This is not perfect yet. When we reach the second round, we want to keep it up and still win consecutively,” he said.

IEM, which put on resistance at the start of the third set and even led 12-9 only to sputter in the end, absorbed their fourth straight setback after an opening win.

Karl Ian Dela Calzada led with 11 points.
