Superal tabs US Am berth

PRINCESS Superal matched par-71 to finish tied for second in the US Women’s Amateur Qualifier and nail a berth in the tournament proper set in August in New York.

Superal, 17, mixed two birdies against the same number of bogeys to salvage that 71 at Sapona Ridge Country Club in North Carolina. She tied Sierra Sims of Texas and California’s Lauren Stephenson for second, one stroke behind low medalist Carly Goldstein of Florida in the event, which stakes slots to the US’ biggest ladies amateur tournament.

The US Women’s Amateur is set Aug. 4 to 10 at Nassau Country Club in New York.
