MICHELE Gumabao returns to action for AirAsia when it tackles Petron while Cignal HD battles Systema in a pair of interesting matches today in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at University of San Carlos Gym in Cebu City.
Gumabao, the former La Salle spiker who dabbled briefly in reality TV with her stay in Pinoy Big Brother, will try to inspire the Flying Spikers despite not being 100-percent fit, according to her coach.
“We will use her in the game, but probably she won’t start because she’s still not 100 percent,” said Air Asia coach Ramil de Jesus.
Systema, featuring actor-sportsman Richard Gomez, guns for its fourth victory when it collides with Cignal HD in the curtain-raiser at 4 p.m. Both teams are at 3-2.
De Jesus, whose wards have lost two of its last three games, said they will not be consumed with trying to stop Petron’s prolific scorer Dindin Santiago.
“Stopping Santiago is just half of the job,” he said. “Petron is such a strong team, we also have to stop her teammates from contributing.”
