MANILA, Philippines — Hot newcomer PLDT Home Telpad expects bigger plays again from its veterans when it goes for the solo lead versus defending champion Cagayan Valley in the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 Open Conference Monday at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Power Attackers, who have yet to drop a set in two games, seek a third straight triumph versus the Rising Suns at 4 p.m. Earlier, Air Force tries to rebound from its first loss when it battles the skidding University of the Philippines at 2 p.m.
The Power Attackers boast depth and experience with a cast led by former MVP Suzanne Roces, Charo Soriano and San Sebastian star Gretchel Soltones.
They quickly flaunted their form with wins over UP (25-15, 25-21, 25-21) and Ateneo (25-21, 25-13, 26-24).
But the Rising Suns look capable of matching PLDT’s attacking prowess with a crew bannered by Aiza Maizo, Pau Soriano, Shiela Pineda, Angeli Tabaquero and Joy Benito.
The Rising Suns, who completed a historic 16-0 championship romp last year, are coming off a 25-15, 25-21, 25-18 triumph over Philippine National Police where Maizo and Janine Marciano teamed up for 22 points.
