MANILA, Philippines — Three games in and newcomer PLDT Home Telpad has yet to drop a single set in the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 Open Conference.

The Power Attackers continued their winning ways after stopping defending champion Cagayan, in three closely-contested sets, 25-23, 25-23, 25-21, Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Lou Ann Latigay and Gretchel Soltones, bridging different eras in San Sebastian volleyball, led PLDT with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

With the win, the Power Attackers earned the early lead in the standings at 3-0 and they’re doing it even without former V-League MVP Dindin Santiago and ex-La Salle star Abi Maraño, who still have contracts in the Philippine Super Liga.

“We’re just maximizing what we have and the girls are playing great,” said PLDT head coach Roger Gorayeb, who also steers the same team in the PSL, in Filipino. “Hopefully we can continue our play.”

Aiza Maizo tallied 13 points and Angeli Tabaquero registered 10 but the former University of Santo Tomas stars couldn’t keep the Lady Rising Suns’ winning streak, bridging last year’s historic 16-0 sweep last year, alive as it ended at 17.
