PETRON top rookie Dindin Santiago expectedly topped the scoring department after the elimination round of the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference women’s volleyball tournament.
The 6-foot-2 power-hitter finished as the Best Scorer and Best Spiker, highlighting her offensive prowess by posting the league’s scoring record with 37 points while boosting the Blaze Spikers to the quarterfinals.
All told, the former UAAP stalwart from National University piled up 127 kills, 12 blocks and 10 aces for a total of 149 points.
A far second was Honey Royse Tubino of Cignal who had 90 kills, 10 blocks and two aces for a total of 102.
Suzanne Roces of PLDT lay third with a total of 100 points coming from 92 kills, six blocks and two aces.
Petron and PLDT will clash for a semifinal berth tomorrow, while Air-Asia and Cagayan Valley collide in the other Final 4 duel.
Volleyball poster girl and beach volley ace Jovelyn Gonzaga of Generika- Army was the Best Blocker with an average of 0.70 points while teammate, Mary Jean Balse, and Cha Cruz of AirAsia trailed with 0.52 points each.
Rhea Dimaculangan of RC Cola-Air Force was the Best Setter with an average of 0.62 points followed by Danika Gendrauli of Cignal with 0.50 points.
