EDMOND, Oklahoma—Frankie Miñoza slightly improved with an 8-over-par 79 but, as expected, missed the halfway cut of the US Senior Open where Colin Montgomerie of Scotland stayed on top by one stroke for the second straight day.
With his opening 80, Miñoza wound up with a 36-hole total of 159, a grievous ten shots off the cutoff score of 149.
Montgomerie, who opened with a 65 on Thursday, shot a 71 to lead Scott Dunlap, who was at 5-under with rounds of 69-68.
Bernhard Langer, who leads the Champions Tour with three wins this season, bogeyed 18 to finish at 4 under. Langer is tied with Gene Sauers, who shot another 69.
