MANILA, Philippines — For the first time this season, the NCAA has postponed four games slated today at Filoil Flying V Arena in anticipation of bad weather brought by Typhoon “Glenda”.

League management committee chair Paul Supan of Jose Rizal U Tuesday night announced they were moving the juniors and seniors games between St. Benilde and Perpetual Help as well as those of San Sebastian against Emilio Aguinaldo College to a later date.

The Altas were supposed to put their three-game win streak on the line against the Blazers while the Stags are seeking back-to-back victories against the Generals.

Meanwhile, the league has slapped a suspension on Letran coach Caloy Garcia and player Mark Cruz as well as referee Ian Borbe for their unsportsmanlike behavior in the aftermath of the Knights’ 60-69 loss to JRU.

Garcia and Cruz were slapped one-game suspensions while NCAA commissioner Bai Cristobal meted the most severe sanction on referee Borbe who was given a three-game ban for his actions after the game. Garcia alleged the referee threatened to punch Cruz.

“We’re just following the NCAA rules concerning sanctions to coaches and players displaying unsportsmanlike conduct by provocative gesture,” said Cristobal.
