MANILA, Philippines — Attacking with precision, PLDT Home TelPad made light work of Philippine National Police, 25-13, 25-17, 25-19, Tuesday in the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

PLDT’s fourth victory, fashioned out in 63 minutes, lifted the Turbo Boosters to the solo lead just two days before they battle Army in what is seen as a championship preview.

Putting together 44 attack points, the Turbo Boosters inflicted more misery on the Lady Patrollers, who fell to 0-4 in a tie with University of the Philippines.

Later, Cagayan Valley climbed to solo fourth with a hard-earned 26-24, 25-23, 27-25 victory over National University.

Janine Marciano got away with 16 points while Aiza Maizo and Wenneth Eulalio combined for 21 hits for the Lady Rising Suns.

Not even Jaja Santiago’s 17-point performance and Myla Pablo’s 16-point effort could prevent the Lady Bulldogs from falling to 1-2.

The Turbo Boosters’ defense was just as impressive with the Lady Patrollers unable to register a single ace. In contrast, PLDT tallied 10 aces.

“We just want to pile up wins to gain more confidence,” said PLDT Home Telpad coach Roger Gorayeb, whose team earlier thumped UP, Ateneo and defending champion Cagayan.

Former MVP Suzanne Roces posted 13 kills, while Laurence Ann Latigay scored nine points for the Turbo Boosters.

So dominant were the Boosters that Gorayeb had the luxury of resting stars Gretchel Soltones and Charo Soriano after they combined for 14 hits in the first two sets.
