MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon “Glenda” did not spare several facilities at the Rizal Memorial Complex when it hit Metro Manila Wednesday.
PSC executive director Guillermo Iroy said the roofing of the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, benches at the stands of the baseball field and glass windows at the administration building were damaged at the height of the storm.
He estimated the damage at less than P1 million.
“It will not affect the training of the athletes,” said Iroy, who checked the facilities with PSC chair Richie Garcia.
“We will work on the repairs first thing tomorrow (Thursday),” he added.
The PSC had spent millions of pesos for the repair of sports facilities inside the RMSC during previous typhoons that hit Metro Manila.
“In the past, we had spent a lot because of the damage caused by flooding,” said Iroy.
