MANILA, Philippines — Kiefer Ravena caught fire late and Ateneo beat old rival De La Salle, 97-86, in the UAAP Season 77 men’s basketball tournament Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The explosive guard scored the bulk of his points in the fourth quarter – knocking in four 3-pointers – including three straight that stretched a one-point edge to an 85-71 buffer after Ravena drilled in his fourth trey of the period with 2:05 left.

Ravena finished with 29 points as the Blue Eagles, who bucked a slow start, joined National University and University of the East on top of the standings at 2-0 while also sending the defending champion Green Archers to a 0-2 hole.
