LONG-DISTANCE cycling will happen at Clark, Pampanga, on Aug. 16 and 17 with the launch of the AboitizPower Tour of Clark.
Organized by Bike King, headed by Raul Cuevas, and presented by AboitizPower, the event will be composed of three stages.
Stage 1, which is a 20-km time team trial, will commence first day action at 7 a.m. Stage 2 (40-km criterium in 3 waves) will begin at 2 p.m. The 80-km road race will take place at 7 a.m. on Aug. 17.
The starting line for the three stages in the event will be along J.P. Rizal Avenue.
The finish line will be along J. Abad Santos Avenue for Stages 1 and 3 while the Stage 2 finish line will be at J.P. Rizal.
Registration is open with entry fee set at P1,500 (until July 31) for each stage. Effective Aug. 1, the entry fee will be P2,000 per stage until registration concludes on Aug. 10 or until all slots have been filled.
Participants who manage to get registered by July 31 will be entitled to an event t-shirt.
The event is open to all individual riders and cycling clubs. Cyclists who held a professional license (UCI) below 50-years-old won’t be allowed to compete. Participants’ categories include the female open, novice, intermediate and advanced.
On July 30, a Team Manager’s meeting will be held at Biker’s Café at SM Mall of Asia by the Bay.
